History in the making

America just swore in a black president. Wait a minute, his mom was white so he is half black. Many about town chose to witness this historic event on CNN. Some in the company of geeks at the FCC, others just eating pizza at home. I chose not to be glued to the TV.

Woodstock was an historic event. I missed it. Too young, but listening to Country Joe giving the GIVE ME AN F cheer and CSNY saying they were scared shitless over and over in my friends living room and seeing the movie of people standing in the mud and rain was enough to get my fill.

We will look back on this event and what happened this time in history. Some will say I was in PNH at the FCC with geeks watching it on CNN while wearing an Obama mask and handing out George Bush toilet paper. Others will say I was in PNH in my home eating pizza sending out text of how he messed up the acceptance speech.

I will think back on this night and how I took in Sharky, Martini, Walkabout and the Heart. I will always reflect on the beauty at the end of the night, with skin darker than the incoming president, and her thong. In the mood lighting of the repetitive CNN coverage which lingered through round two, I was able to catch a glimpse of Obama flashing the Shaka Brudda sign to his old high school marching band. That's all the history I need.

Oh yes!

And I will always remember having a beer with you Dredge while surveying the throngs at Martini that night and trying to decide who to inaugurate. Finally chose my secretary of the interior!

Here's to the next 4 years!

BTW, even the FCC would not take the Obama-rama geeks and they were forced to that most American of bars, The Gym Bar.
